Melanie M. Tkach, PhD, OTR/L is an occupational therapist and research scientist. Dr. Tkach has more than eight years of clinical experience in acute care, inpatient, and outpatient rehabilitation settings. She is currently employed as an occupational therapist for two skilled nursing facilities in Mississippi and a lecturer in the department of psychology at Mississippi State University. Her research interests include intervention fidelity, occupation-focused practice in acute care, the role of occupational therapy in hospital readmissions, and patient-centered outcomes.
She received her doctorate in occupational therapy from Texas Woman’s University, her master’s of science in occupational therapy from Washington University in St. Louis, and a bachelor’s of science in psychology from Texas A&M University.
