There are countless positive things I can share about the OTD program through Rehab Essentials. When researching options, I needed a program that was flexible enough to accommodate my busy schedule, affordable, and directly relevant to my current practice as an occupational therapist. The Rehab Essentials OTD program exceeded all of my expectations. The coursework provided the “just right challenge” I was seeking, and the content was consistently applicable to real-world OT practice. The instructors were exceptionally knowledgeable in their subject areas, well-prepared, and responsive. They offered meaningful feedback and were always available to address questions or concerns. From the very beginning, I knew I had chosen the right program. I continue to recommend it to many of my OT colleagues without hesitation!
Teri Laguardia, OTD, OTR/L
Completing the ppOTD program through Rehab Essentials was truly transformative. The asynchronous format gave me the flexibility I needed, while the instructors pushed me to stretch my thinking and grow beyond my comfort zone. I developed advanced skills in leadership, critical reflection, and advocacy, tools that will continue to shape my practice. Through a capstone project rooted in occupational justice and meaningful occupation, I was able to make a greater impact than I ever imagined. With the support of this program, I didn’t just learn, I experienced significant learning, and now feel equipped to lead and influence change within the profession of occupational therapy.

The program is well put together in that each semester builds toward the next, and all the classes lay a foundation for not only completing the Doctoral Capstone Project but also preparing you to be a leader in the profession. I am so happy that I was able to turn my passion into an impactful Capstone project. This program has been such a great learning experience for me and my colleagues. I highly recommend it, and if possible, get a group of your OT friends to do it together.
Jennifer Fritz, OTD, OTR/L
The ppOTD program is an excellent opportunity to enhance clinical and academic skills, while working at a pace that is reasonable for life balance. I learned to apply the concepts introduced during my previous master's level program in new ways that enhance my clinical practice and future career goals. I highly recommend this program for OT's looking to go back to school for their OTD degree.
Rebecca Thompson, OTD, OTR/L
This program was very organized and feasable for working professionals with families. The information was applicable to practice and was up-to-date with the current evidence. Having gone to PT school many years ago, it was wonderful to have an update on several important topics such as imaging and evidenced-based practice. The online asynchronous model made it very doable. The professors were overall very responsive and helpful to questions and feedback despite the lectures not being live. The program, while thorough, felt like it went by quickly.
Katherine Finocchiaro, DPT
The ppOTD program was truly affirming for me. Even while working full-time, I felt supported every step of the way thanks to the flexible scheduling and consistent access to faculty and resources. My capstone became such a meaningful project, and the guidance and mentorship I received made the process not only feasible but genuinely rewarding. The faculty showed that they cared deeply about our learning and success. I also valued the connections I was able to build with both peers and faculty that continue to support me in my journey. Just three months after graduation, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to step into an AFWC role. Because of this program, I feel confident and prepared to make the transition from clinician to full-time educator. I know I wouldn’t feel as ready or supported without the experiences, mentorship, and relationships I gained through the ppOTD program.
Elizabeth Levine, OTD, OTR/L
I truly appreciated how the program challenged me to grow both clinically and professionally. The integration of research, leadership, and advanced clinical reasoning gave me the confidence to examine complex cases from a holistic perspective. I particularly valued the opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and applying theory to real-world pediatric practice. This program not only deepened my understanding of occupational therapy but also empowered me to lead with purpose and advocate more effectively for my clients.
