Karen Huhn

PT, PhD

Dr. Huhn graduated Northeastern University with a BS in Physical Therapy and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey with a Master of Health Science and a PhD in Health Science. She received a Promotion of Doctoral Studies II Scholarship for her dissertation work comparing virtual and paper-based cases and their effects on students’ clinical reasoning. She is a 2015 graduate of the Educational Leadership Fellowship and the founding chair of the ACAPT Clinical Reasoning Curricula and Research Consortium. Dr. Huhn is a member of the Journal of Physical Therapy Education Editorial Board and serves as a reviewer for additional journals.

 

Dr. Huhn has published several articles with her colleagues related to clinical reasoning and continues to conduct research to enhance our understanding of clinical reasoning in physical therapy. She has also co-created a virtual patient program designed to facilitate the development of clinical reasoning for physical therapy students. Currently, Dr. Huhn is an Professor and Chair of the School of Physical Therapy at Husson University in Bangor Maine where she teaches clinical reasoning and pediatrics.
