Rebecca Martin

PT, DPT, PhD, NCS

Dr. Martin is faculty for the Management of Patients with Neurological Disorders for the transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at the University of Montana. Dr. Martin earned her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Misericordia University, her transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy from MGH's Institute of Health Professions, and her Ph.D. in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. She earned her American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties board certification as a Neurologic Clinical Specialist in 2014. Dr. Martin has 9 years of full-time academic experience teaching neurologic content in entry-level doctor of physical therapy programs in both brick-and-mortar and hybrid programs. She enjoys learning more about evidence-based strategies to promote learning in online and hybrid environments and earned her Hybrid Learning Certification in 2020, Quality Matters certification in 2022, and Cornell University Leading Remote Teams Certification in 2022. Dr. Martin remains active in the clinic, currently seeing patients in a rural outpatient clinic and online via telerehabilitation and is an internationally known expert in neurologic physical therapy. Locally, she runs a support group for individuals with Parkinson disease. Nationally she served three years as the Chair of the Degenerative Disease Special Interest Group and currently serves as the Chair of the CSM Program Committee for the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy. Internationally, she collaborates with the leadership of several Central and South American physiotherapy associations, as well as World Physiotherapy, to advance the profession on a global scale through projects like educational exchanges, World PT Day, and the creation of Safe Rehabilitation Guidelines in Long COVID.
