Robbie Leonard

PT, DPT

Robbie B. Leonard, PT is a 1986 graduate of Clemson University (B.S. Microbiology), a 1988 graduate of Duke University (M.S. Physical Therapy) and a 2017 graduate of the University of Montana (tDPT).

Robbie has worked in the rehabilitation industry since 1988 in many different capacities. In the last ten years she has worked as the VP of Administration for a PT owned private practice that grew from 9 clinics to over 35 in 3 states during her tenure. She most recently served as the COO for the Medical Billing Center (MBC) which is a therapy specific billing company who bills for over 80 private therapy practices across the country. Robbie still serves in an independent contracting role as the Chief Learning Office for MBC. Robbie is currently the co-founder and a consultant with 8150 Advisors. 8150 is a consulting group whose mission is to help outpatient therapy clinics prosper in today’s challenging healthcare environment.

Dr. Leonard has clinical and administrative experience in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. Dr. Leonard has served as an educator in both the academic and continuing education settings. She has provided continuing education seminars nationwide in the areas of administration, Medicare, billing and coding, compliance, and neurological rehabilitation. She has taught in the academic setting at MUSC and at Western Carolina University and has taught the Administration class for the students at WCU since 2001.

With expertise in revenue cycle management, corporate and practice compliance, and charge capture, Robbie has a wealth of knowledge that helps owners achieve both compliance and optimal performance. Robbie is skilled in reviewing and translating payor contracts and is an incredible resource for navigating payer and billing and coding issues.

Robbie has been an active APTA member since 1986 and has served the SCAPTA chapter in the past as District Chair, Delegate, Treasurer, and as a Key legislative liaison. She is currently a member of the APTA Public Policy and Advocacy Committee (PPAC), the Private Practice Section Annual Program Work Group and the SCAPTA Payment and Policy Committee.

Robbie resides in Landrum, SC and enjoys spending time with her family.
