Is class participation required?

Every course has a discussion forum associated with it.  Some courses have grading requirements associated with the discussion forum participation, which must be completed.  However, we encourage every student to utilize the discussion as much as possible.  Networking and sharing ideas is the way an individual grows and enhances their profession.  The discussion forum can be linked to your email, making it easier to keep up to date.

Do I need to be on the computer at a certain time?

All courses are self-paced within the semester, and in accordance to the grading requirement deadlines. As an example: if a course has an assignment due the 7th week of the semester and an exam due the last week of the semester, students can listen to the lectures on their own time. However, the assignment and exam must be submitted prior to their respective deadlines.

Are the programs accredited?

Transitional DPT programs are post-professional programs and as a result are not CAPTE accredited since CAPTE only accredits entry-level PT education programs.  The tDPT degree is issued from the University of Montana, an institution accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU).

Is financial aid available?

We keep costs low by three avenues: 1) lowered post-graduate credit rate, 2) no accessory fees, and 3) low credits per semester. This third avenue of keeping credits low per semester while achieving an effective and efficient curriculum completion places most post professional students below the threshold of a part-time student status. Federal financial aid is only available to students that are considered part-time or higher. If you are taking 6 or more credits in a semester you may qualify for federal financial aid for that semester, please visit https://www.umt.edu/finaid/ to learn more. Personal, regional, or other financial aid may be available, but not through the University of Montana.  We would encourage you to check apta.org, aota.org, or with your current employer for potential tuition match opportunities or to look for private scholarships.

The most convenient way to receive a transcript is through the National Student Clearing House: www.studentclearinghouse.org. Provide your Student ID OR SSN in the required sections. (Should you get an error message that says there was a problem finding your transcripts, simply click on “NEXT” to continue with the order.  The university will be able to look up your records using the information you provide and mail out your transcripts.
